XSS via incorrect escaping after yield
Published Oct 8, 2026 · Updated Oct 8, 2026
XSS in Go standard library html/template allows attackers to execute browser JavaScript via template data after the yield keyword. In html/template/js.go, nextJSCtx fails to recognize yield as a regular-expression preceder, selecting JSON encoding instead of regular-expression escaping and leaving injected slashes unescaped. Exploitation requires a trusted template that inserts attacker-controlled data into a regular-expression literal following yield and a browser that renders the resulting HTML.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
