Rule tampering via unchecked proxy writes
Published Oct 15, 2026 · Updated Oct 15, 2026
Access control failure in Grafana OSS and Enterprise allows remote authenticated users to alter Loki rules via the data source proxy. The proxy forwards POST, PUT, and DELETE requests to /loki/api/v1/rules without enforcing role-based write permissions. An authenticated Viewer account and a configured Loki data source suffice to create, modify, or delete rules stored in Loki, affecting every user of that data source.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=12.3.0 <=12.3.8
- Affected versionversion=12.4.0 <=12.4.5
- Affected versionversion=13.0.0 <=13.0.3
- Affected versionversion=8.0.0 <=12.3.0
