OCI token disclosure via world-readable cache file
Published Sep 28, 2026 · Updated Sep 29, 2026
Information disclosure in Flatpak on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, 8, 9, and 10 allows local users to read OCI repository tokens. The flatpak_oci_registry_set_token function writes the bearer token to a .token file in the system-helper's traversable cache with world-readable permissions. Exposure requires another local user and a download from an authenticated OCI remote; libostree remotes such as Flathub do not expose this token.
