Improper certificate validation in Undici 7.23.0 through 7.27.x and 8.0.0 through 8.4.x allows attackers to read and alter HTTPS traffic. ProxyAgent drops requestTls for SOCKS5 proxy URIs, causing tunneled HTTPS connections to use Node.js's default trust store instead of configured CA and TLS restrictions. Exploitation requires a SOCKS5 deployment that relies on requestTls scope restriction and a man-in-the-middle position; the bounded consequence is disclosure or modification of the tunneled exchange.
