Unauthenticated author account creation via unchecked AJAX action
Published Sep 27, 2026 · Updated Sep 27, 2026
Missing authorization in Optima Express IDX 8.5.0 through 8.7.5 allows remote attackers to create a fixed Author account. The logged-out ihf_clear_cache AJAX action reaches credential provisioning without an authorization check, creating the fixed account and repeatedly rotating its application password. Any connected installation exposes the action, granting the created Author account content-publishing and media-upload access rather than administrator control.
