Remote code execution via unauthorized file remediation
Published Sep 27, 2026 · Updated Sep 27, 2026
Missing authorization in Malcure Malware Shield before 19.9.7 allows remote authenticated users to write or delete arbitrary server files. The wpmr_ajax_request AJAX action dispatches file-remediation operations without requiring the WordPress Multisite network-level capability added in 19.9.7. A subsite administrator on a Multisite network can alter the shared filesystem, enabling PHP code execution or deletion of files used by other sites.
