Stored XSS via unescaped embed block attributes
Published Sep 27, 2026 · Updated Sep 27, 2026
Stored XSS in WP YouTube Lyte before 1.7.31 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through crafted YouTube embed blocks. When rendering an affected block, the plugin copies unescaped block attributes into an HTML attribute, allowing attacker-controlled markup to persist in page output. Contributor-level access is sufficient to plant the payload, which executes in visitors' browsers when the affected content is viewed.
