Memory corruption via crafted L2TP hostname
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in D-Link DIR-825 3.00b32 rp-l2tp allows remote attackers to corrupt memory through a crafted L2TP hostname. The tunnel_set_params function in tunnel.c writes an attacker-controlled peer_hostname value beyond its intended memory boundary. The L2TP service must process the crafted hostname; public evidence does not establish whether the corruption causes a crash or code execution.
