Stored XSS via unencoded Drilldown tab names
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Stored XSS in Wikimedia Foundation Cargo 3.9.4 and earlier allows attackers to run script in visitors' browsers via crafted tab names. The custom Drilldown tab-name parser parameter is stored and later inserted into Special:Drilldown output without HTML encoding. Exploitation requires permission to alter a Cargo table declaration and a victim to open the affected Drilldown page, where the script runs with that visitor's session context.
