Stored XSS via unsafe tooltip HTML insertion
Published Oct 16, 2026 · Updated Oct 16, 2026
Stored XSS in SureDash 1.12.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through crafted display names. The community tooltip handler copies attacker-controlled data-tooltip-description into innerHTML, turning browser-decoded entities into active HTML. Subscriber-level access suffices to plant the payload, which executes in the site's browser context when another user hovers over a comment's like counter.
