Stored script execution via unescaped Info URL
Published Jun 27, 2026 · Updated Jun 27, 2026
Stored XSS in yanniks Shariff for WordPress 1.0.11 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in visitors' browsers. The generateshariff() function places the shariff_infourl setting into a frontend data-info-url attribute without sanitization or output escaping. Administrator access to the plugin settings and a subsequent page visit are required; the flaw remains reachable when unfiltered_html is disabled, including in multisite setups.
