Stored XSS via decoded comment email logs
Published Oct 16, 2026 · Updated Oct 16, 2026
Stored XSS in GoSMTP Pro 1.2.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute scripts through WordPress comment email logs. WordPress comment kses leaves entity-encoded tag delimiters intact, core notification functions decode them into HTML, and the plugin stores the resulting body without adequate output escaping. Exploitation requires comment content to reach a logged notification and a user to view the affected log page; execution occurs in that user's browser, not directly on the server.
