Unauthorized post hierarchy changes via unchecked AJAX action
Published Jun 29, 2026 · Updated Jun 29, 2026
Missing authorization in FAKTOR VIER F4 Post Tree before 2.0.5 allows remote authenticated users to alter arbitrary post hierarchy. An unnamed AJAX action writes attacker-supplied parent and menu-order data without checking capabilities or requiring a valid nonce. Subscriber-level access is sufficient to change ordering and parent relationships for posts the account is otherwise unauthorized to manage.
