Unauthorized method invocation via unvalidated report formulas
Published Sep 23, 2026 · Updated Sep 23, 2026
Improper authorization in Frappe ERPNext before 16.34.1 allows remote authenticated users to invoke non-whitelisted server methods. The Financial Report Template engine resolves calculation_formula as a dotted Python path and passes it to frappe.call() without verifying that the target is whitelisted and permits GET requests. An Accounts Manager role and permission to save a crafted template are required; invoked methods can disclose their returned data.
