Stored XSS via unescaped checkbox values
Published Oct 17, 2026 · Updated Oct 17, 2026
Stored XSS in User Registration & Membership 5.2.8 and earlier allows remote attackers to run scripts via checkbox values. Checkbox values receive insufficient input sanitization and output escaping, while the unauthenticated user_registration_user_form_submit AJAX action reaches ur_process_registration() without nonce validation. Injection requires no account, and stored scripts execute when a user opens an affected page, compromising browser-context data and page integrity rather than directly executing server commands.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
