Viewer-level host-secret disclosure via template previews
Published Oct 1, 2026 · Updated Oct 1, 2026
Red Hat Satellite's Foreman template preview lets remote authenticated users with Viewer access read sensitive host data. The preview endpoints accept Viewer requests and render host information, including root passwords, beyond that role's intended access; the exact missing authorization check has not been published. An account with Viewer permissions is required, and command execution as the Foreman system account is limited to installations with Safemode protections disabled.
