Local SYSTEM escalation via writable service configuration
Published Oct 16, 2026 · Updated Oct 16, 2026
Incorrect service permissions in Electronic Arts EA Javelin Anticheat's installer allow local users to gain SYSTEM access on Windows. Standalone installer builds 1.0.14329371, 1.0.14547437, 1.0.14789537, and 1.0.14940698 assign permissions that let non-administrative users modify the EAAntiCheatService configuration and executable path. Exposure requires non-standard manual execution of the standalone installer; standard game installations through the EA App and Steam are unaffected.
