Database-role code execution via unrestricted file functions
Published Sep 28, 2026 · Updated Sep 28, 2026
Missing authorization in EnterpriseDB WarehousePG 7.x before 7.6.0-WHPG allows remote authenticated users to alter server files via SQL. The built-in pg_file_write, pg_file_rename, pg_file_unlink, and pg_logdir_ls functions allow ordinary roles to manipulate files or list logs without the intended privilege checks. A non-superuser can append commands to postgresql.auto.conf and obtain code execution as the postgres operating system user after a restart or configuration reload.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
