RPC service interruption via rethrown transport exception
Published Oct 2, 2026 · Updated Oct 2, 2026
Uncaught exceptions in Apache Thrift Perl server bindings before 0.25.0 allow remote attackers to interrupt RPC service via a failed connection. The Thrift::Server exception handler rethrows transport exceptions from per-client processing, allowing a connection failure to escape the serving loop. Exploitation requires a reachable Perl-based Thrift listener; the supported consequence is an interrupted serving loop, not code execution.
