Unstoppable pulls via cross-user CancelPull tracking loss
Published Sep 27, 2026 · Updated Sep 27, 2026
Denial of service in Flatpak before 1.16.4 allows local users to prevent another user's ongoing pull from being stopped. The org.freedesktop.Flatpak.SystemHelper.CancelPull method removes another user's pull from internal tracking without cancelling the underlying transfer. The attacker needs local access and another user must have an active pull; the owner then cannot stop that pull.
