Code execution via truncated OCI delta sizes
Published Sep 27, 2026 · Updated Sep 27, 2026
Heap buffer overflow in Flatpak 1.18.0 and earlier allows remote attackers controlling an OCI registry to execute code on 32-bit clients during installs. The OCI delta stream parser passes 64-bit sizes to GLib routines expecting 32-bit gsize values, allocating undersized buffers before using the original lengths. Exploitation requires an attacker-controlled OCI remote and a user-initiated install or update; the size truncation does not affect 64-bit builds.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
