Authenticated memory corruption via unchecked credential copy
Published May 27, 2026 · Updated May 27, 2026
Buffer overflow in the HiPER 1200GW 2.5.3-170306 web interface allows remote authenticated users to corrupt memory via crafted credentials. The /goform/setSysAdm handler passes attacker-controlled sysAdmUser or sysAdmPass data to strcpy without enforcing the destination buffer's bounds. Network access to the management interface and low-privilege credentials are required; public records do not establish whether exploitation produces a crash or code execution.
