Administrator takeover via unchecked target account edit
Published May 27, 2026 · Updated May 27, 2026
Privilege escalation in QianFox FoxCMS 1.2.0 through 1.2.6 allows remote authenticated users to take over the super-administrator account. The Admin.php edit() function trusts request-supplied id and password fields without checking whether the current administrator may edit the target account. A normal administrator session is sufficient to replace the super-administrator password and then sign in as that account.
