Code execution via untrusted pickle deserialization
Published Sep 23, 2026 · Updated Sep 23, 2026
Unsafe deserialization in LF AI & Data Foundation Recommenders 1.2.0 and 1.2.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute code via crafted pickle files. MINDIterator.load_dict opens each configured news-recommendation dictionary file and passes its contents directly to pickle.load without establishing that the pickle is trusted. Execution requires an attacker-controlled dictionary to be supplied to a user who instantiates the iterator, and the payload runs with the Python process's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
