Browser script execution via unvalidated Avatar metadata
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in Cozmoslabs Profile Builder 4.0.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute scripts through Avatar data. In the zero-length multipart branch, wppb_save_avatar_value() writes the raw request value to user meta without attachment-ID validation, and wppb_default_fields_make_upload_button() later renders the adopted attachment URL without escaping. No authentication is required to store the payload, but an administrator must view the affected account before the script runs in that administrator's browser.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
