Unauthenticated broker access via failed security-class loading
Published Sep 23, 2026 · Updated Sep 23, 2026
Authentication bypass in Moquette before 0.18.1 allows remote attackers to publish or subscribe via failed custom security-class loading. Server.initializeAuthenticator and Server.initializeAuthorizatorPolicy treat a configured class that cannot load as absent, then install AcceptAllAuthenticator or PermitAllAuthorizatorPolicy. Exploitation requires a configured authentication or authorization class to fail through a bad name, missing dependency, constructor error, or classpath problem; the broker then starts fully open.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
