Denial of service via uncaught command exceptions
Published Sep 23, 2026 · Updated Sep 23, 2026
Denial of service in Moquette before 0.18.1 allows remote attackers to halt shared session processing via an MQTT command. SessionEventLoop.run executes queued FutureTask commands but catches only InterruptedException, so any other thrown error escapes and terminates the shared loop. Remote attackers can select client IDs that hash to different loops and stop PUBLISH, SUBSCRIBE, PUBACK, and other processing for co-located sessions across the broker.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
