Authenticated code execution via profile-photo upload
Published Sep 22, 2026 · Updated Sep 22, 2026
Unrestricted file upload in ANIRBAN DUTTA College Notes Gallery allows remote authenticated users to place files on the server. At affected commit 8c1cf3d98f30982d069c88ca172612c001eb39f6, userprofile.php trusts the client-supplied MIME type, preserves the original extension, and moves the file into the web-served profilepics directory. Any signed-in user who can submit the profile-photo form can store an executable server-side script and run code through a subsequent request.
