Sentry code execution via MemoryFile double-free
Published Oct 9, 2026 · Updated Oct 9, 2026
Use-after-free in Google gVisor VFS before 20260831.0 allows local users to execute code in the sentry via overlay filesystem operations. The supplied advisory describes an in-sandbox overlay filesystem double-freeing its backing MemoryFile; retrieved public sources do not independently verify that mechanism. Standard container privileges suffice according to that record, but sentry execution remains confined by host-level Linux seccomp and namespace boundaries rather than granting unrestricted host execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

No CVSS assessment is available in this record.
CVSS describes severity. EPSS estimates exploitation probability.
Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
