Authenticated file read via organization-name path traversal
Published Sep 22, 2026 · Updated Sep 22, 2026
Path traversal in MISP before 2.5.47 allows remote authenticated users to read PNG or SVG files through crafted organization names. OrgImgHelper::findOrgImage concatenates an unvalidated Org.name value with the image directory and extension before calling file_exists and returning the resolved filename. Event creation or import privileges are required; reachable files are limited to readable paths ending in .png or .svg, while other paths expose existence only.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
