Account takeover via stale invitation authorization
Published Sep 22, 2026 · Updated Sep 22, 2026
Authorization bypass in Databasement before 1.7.14 allows remote attackers holding an invitation link to take over an invited account. The AcceptInvitation Livewire component resolves the token during page mounting, then reuses the cached user when setting a password without confirming that the invitation remains pending. The attacker must obtain a leaked or forwarded link and keep its page open before legitimate acceptance; reuse then replaces the password and exposes managed database credentials and secrets.
