Filesystem access expansion via attacker-controlled recursion
Published Sep 23, 2026 · Updated Sep 23, 2026
Improper access control in Tauri Dialog Plugin allows attackers with JavaScript execution to expand filesystem access after a user click. The open command passes the attacker-controlled recursive option directly to allow_directory after a folder is selected, adding the entire subtree to the filesystem scope. A normal-looking picker click is sufficient, and the expanded read/write scope remains available until the host application exits.
