CVE-2026-95616Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Unauthenticated service interruption via DER length overflow

Published Sep 30, 2026 · Updated Sep 30, 2026

Integer overflow in Apache WSS4J before 2.4.4, 3.0.0 through 3.0.5, and 4.0.0 through 4.0.1 lets remote attackers exhaust SOAP server memory. During signature key-reference resolution, WSS4J's DER bounds check accepts a forged SubjectKeyIdentifier length of 0x7FFFFFFF and allocates roughly 2 GB for an eleven-byte extension. An unauthenticated SOAP endpoint that processes certificate-based signatures exposes this path; repeated requests exhaust the hosting process's memory and interrupt service.
