Arbitrary file overwrite via unrestricted editor save
Published Sep 22, 2026 · Updated Sep 22, 2026
Unrestricted file upload in JosephChuks PHP File Manager + Code Editor 3.0 allows remote attackers to overwrite server files. The codeEditor.php save handler accepts request-controlled content and passes it to file_put_contents for a filename supplied in the query string, without path authorization. Network access to the handler and a writable existing target file are required; successful exploitation replaces that file's contents.
