Unauthenticated route access via substring endpoint matching
Published Sep 22, 2026 · Updated Sep 22, 2026
Improper authentication in changedetection.io 0.60.0 through 0.60.7 allows remote attackers to reach protected plugin routes. The check_authentication hook treats any Flask endpoint name containing login as exempt, rather than matching only the intended login endpoint. Password protection must be enabled and a plugin or other route with login in its internal endpoint name must expose sensitive behavior; the disclosed proof of concept registers such a plugin route and then accesses it without a session.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
