CVE-2026-95179Network attack vector

App crash via cyclic precomposition references

Published Oct 15, 2026 · Updated Oct 15, 2026

Uncontrolled recursion in Airbnb Lottie for Android 6.7.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to crash apps via crafted animation JSON. BaseLayer.forModel constructs a CompositionLayer for each referenced precomposition, whose constructor recursively builds child layers without detecting reference cycles. Exploitation requires a consuming Android app to load attacker-controlled animation content; the consequence is stack exhaustion in that app, not demonstrated code execution.
