Code execution via unchecked RTP offset subtraction
Published Oct 13, 2026 · Updated Oct 13, 2026
Integer underflow in TechSmith MP4v2 2.0.0 RTP parsing allows attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted MP4 file. MP4RtpAtom::ReadHntiType() in src/atom_rtp.cpp subtracts the current file position from the atom end without checking their order, producing a near-2^64 allocation size for an undersized atom. A consuming application must parse the file; the supplied record reports code execution, but public exploitability details and version applicability remain unverified.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
