Unauthenticated backup disclosure via webroot path placement
Published May 29, 2026 · Updated May 29, 2026
Information disclosure in Suprema BioStar 2 2.9.3 through 2.9.11 allows remote attackers to download backup ZIP files without authentication. The system backup feature accepts an administrator-selected destination inside the NGINX webroot and serves resulting archives under /download/ without access control. Exposure requires an administrator to place the backup path within the webroot; retrieved archives contain databases, keys, and configuration usable for server impersonation and lateral access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
