Account hijacking via retained pre-authentication session identifier
Published Jun 16, 2026 · Updated Jun 16, 2026
Session fixation in Enhancesoft osTicket 1.18.2 allows remote attackers to hijack a victim's account through a planted session cookie. The login flow retains the pre-authentication OSTSESSID value instead of invalidating the cookie or generating a new authenticated identifier. The attacker must first place a known identifier in the victim's browser and wait for the victim to authenticate, after which the session grants the victim's account access.
