Unauthorized file access via unbounded projectPath
Published May 25, 2026 · Updated May 25, 2026
Path traversal in dazeb Cline MCP Memory Bank through 55c81b9 allows remote authenticated users to read or write files outside the project. The MCP handlers join the caller-controlled projectPath with memory-bank paths and pass the result to readFile, writeFile, mkdir, and readdir without enforcing a workspace-root boundary. Access requires permission to invoke the server's MCP tools, and resulting file access remains limited by the server process's operating-system permissions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
