Service hang via frame-boundary busy loop
Published Oct 2, 2026 · Updated Oct 2, 2026
An infinite loop in Apache Thrift Python TNonblockingServer before 0.25.0 allows remote attackers to hang RPC handling via a crafted frame. At an 8192-byte read boundary, the server's frame-processing loop fails to exit and does not return to selecting socket file descriptors. Exploitation requires an application to expose this Python nonblocking server; the resulting service interruption affects other connections handled by that server.
