Server process crash via unhandled connection errors
Published Oct 2, 2026 · Updated Oct 2, 2026
Denial of service in Apache Thrift Node.js bindings before 0.25.0 allows remote attackers to crash a server through a malformed RPC connection. In server.js, connection and request-processing errors are emitted as server error events even when the application has no error listener, allowing an unhandled event to terminate the Node.js process. Exposure requires an application running the affected Thrift server without its own server error handler; the established consequence is interruption of that process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
