Denial of service via retained P2P sessions
Published Sep 21, 2026 · Updated Sep 21, 2026
Denial of service in vLLM Project vLLM 0.29.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to crash EngineCore through P2P KV offloading requests. The P2P tier accepts caller-controlled remote_host and remote_port values in kv_transfer_params and retains ZeroMQ sockets for unreachable peers until its context quota is exhausted. Reachability requires OffloadingConnector with TieringOffloadingSpec and a P2P secondary tier; exhaustion raises an uncaught ZMQError, crashes EngineCore, and stops all inference.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
