Teacher-context code execution via symlink-following artifact writes
Published Oct 1, 2026 · Updated Oct 1, 2026
Arbitrary file write in The Fifty Foundation Classroom 50 before 1.11.0 allows remote attackers to execute code on a teacher's host. The gh teacher download command clones a student repository, then writes result.json and results.json with os.WriteFile, which follows student-committed symlinks outside the clone. Exploitation requires an enrolled student to control an assignment repository and a teacher to run the download command; the resulting write executes in the teacher's context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
