Authentication bypass via SAML assertion confusion and replay
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Authentication bypass in affected authentik releases allows remote attackers with a valid SAML assertion to sign in as its named user. The SAML Source validates signature and lifetime but neither binds the assertion to its issuer, audience, or originating login request nor records accepted assertions for replay detection. Only SAML Sources are affected; exploitation requires possession of a valid assertion, while SAML Providers and other Source types are unaffected.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
