Root command execution via known-host parameter injection
Published Oct 8, 2026 · Updated Oct 8, 2026
OS command injection in Brocade Fabric OS before 9.2.2d and 10.0.0 through 10.0.0a1 lets remote authenticated users run root commands via REST. The REST API handler for SSH known-host configuration passes crafted parameter values containing shell metacharacters into a system command. Exploitation requires administrative permission to configure SSH known hosts; successful injection runs commands with root privileges on the switch.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=0 <9.2.2d
