Root command execution via PAM session cleanup
Published Oct 8, 2026 · Updated Oct 8, 2026
Command injection in Brocade Fabric OS before 9.2.2d and 10.0.0 through 10.0.0a1 allows remote authenticated users to run root commands. The PAM session cleanup routine passes shell metacharacters from an external-directory username or profile identifier into command execution when an SSH session closes. Exploitation requires an external AAA account with a crafted identifier and termination of its SSH session; successful commands run as root on the switch.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
