Root command execution via newline configuration injection
Published Sep 21, 2026 · Updated Sep 21, 2026
Code injection in OpenStack Octavia 6.0.0 through 16.0.x, 17.0.0, and 18.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to run root commands. The Amphora provider writes listener and pool tls_ciphers values verbatim into generated HAProxy configuration without rejecting newline characters. An authenticated project member must own a TLS-enabled load balancer; injected directives execute as root on its provider-managed amphora.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=17.0.0 <17.0.1
