Root command execution via HAProxy directive injection
Published Sep 21, 2026 · Updated Sep 21, 2026
Code injection in OpenStack Octavia 0.8.0 through 16.0.x, 17.0.0, and 18.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands. URL validation percent-encodes control characters but stores the raw redirect_url or redirect_prefix, so newlines become HAProxy directives. The attacker must own a load balancer using the Amphora provider; injected directives run as root on its amphora and expose tenant keys and control-plane access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=0.8.0 <16.1.0
