Unauthenticated command execution via servername injection
Published May 25, 2026 · Updated May 25, 2026
OS command injection in TOTOLINK A8000RU 7.1cu.643_b20200521 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands via servername. The setOpenVpnCertGenerationCfg handler in /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi formats the user-supplied value into a command string that CsteSystem ultimately passes to execv(). No privileges or user interaction are required, and successful exploitation runs commands with the web management service's authority.
